San Luis Obispo Rugby is the only men's rugby club in San Luis Obispo County and one of only a handful in all of Central California. The club is a collection of dozens of current and former athletes aged 18+ and of all skill levels who come together on Saturdays to win and, most importantly, have fun.
The program is now gearing up for the 2024 season and is welcoming players of all experience backgrounds.
The men begin their nine-game division slate against Los Angeles on January 13.

The San Luis Obispo Rugby Football Club is the premier rugby club on the Central Coast, boasting both a men's and a women's program flying under the same banner. Both programs compete in the Southern California Rugby Football Union, or SCRFU. It's a collection of some of the strongest clubs in the entire state of California under the governance of the union, or conference.
The men's program was established in 1975 and has a long history of success not just in the region, but across all of Southern California. The men's most recent championship came in 2023 when they defeated SCRFU powerhouse Belmont Shore in Long Beach, Calif. to claim the title. It was the program's first Division II championship since 1997, and the first at any level since 2003.
The men in the picture holding the championship banner all started somewhere. Some played in college, some high school, some even overseas in other countries. But many joined as adults looking to test themselves athletically once more and to find a great group of individuals — and eventually friends — to join them along the way.
This is a social club that wants to win. If having fun while winning games sounds like a good time to you, you'll fit right in.
