WOMEN'S RUGBY
Note from Officers: (dated Nov 15, 2011)
After deliberating with the officers, it is our displeasure to inform everyone that we will be taking a hiatus from the fifteens Southern California Rugby Union for the 2012 season. Do not worry, we aren't by any means disbanding the women’s team, in fact we consider this to be a temporary situation for our fifteens team. We are currently planning on returning bigger and badder than ever for a fifteens season in 2013.
In the meantime, we are refocusing as a team to pull together a strong sevens team for the 2012 summer sevens tournaments. We are holding an open meeting at 3:00pm Sunday, December 4th, 2011 at the Creeky Tiki in downtown San Luis Obispo for all interested players and participants. Our main focus will be planning for another upcoming event, Prom Dress Rugby. Although historically Prom Dress Rugby has only featured one game, this year for the first time ever we are planning a full fledged tens tournament. Our goal is to bring as many women’s teams as possible to SLO for this event. Stay tuned for specific date for Prom Dress Rugby in the coming month, expect it to be sometime from March to May, 2012. If you are interested in rugby sevens or Prom Dress Rugby please join us at the December 4th meeting with your calendar.
As explained above, we won't be competing in the upcoming fifteens league. This doesn't mean we plan to miss out on all the fun. We are going to be planning some social events and we will begin a training regime after the beginning of the year. We will be keeping you all apprised of upcoming SLO Men’s & SLO Youth games so we can attend & support their teams and of course join in some really fun socials. We are also considering a trip to San Diego for a very fun and well attended 15’s tournament, Champagne Classic, March 3 & 4, 2012. If you are ready to commit to this tournament, please email me at deanna.alexander@yahoo.com and mark that weekend as busy on your calendar.

Eligibility
Women throughout the central coast are welcome to become club members and participate in club activities. Players must be over the age of 18. No experience is necessary. We welcome any and all interested women and enjoy teaching the sport to new people.
